DoD 8140 Seminar: September 22, 2026

Department of War (DoW) cyber workforce personnel are invited to attend the DoD 8140 Seminar, hosted by the DoW Chief Information Officer (CIO) cyber workforce management team, in preparation for annual DoD 8140 qualification data collection activities. This event will take place on Tuesday, September 22, 2026, virtually via MS Teams.

The CIO's Office is proud to announce our Workforce Innovation Directorate’s (WID) has been awarded the 2026 Government Information Technology Council’s Workforce Development Award! This award, presented by the Advanced Technology Academic Research Center (ATARC), honors groundbreaking solutions to federal challenges. It specifically recognizes the Workforce Innovation Directorate’s (WID) pioneering Skills-Based Hiring Pilot. Selected from a highly competitive field, this program reimagines traditional resume-based hiring by utilizing hands-on assessments to evaluate real-world cyber skills. During a WID All-Hands meeting on May 7th, ATARC Founder Tom Suder and Director of Government Engagement Tim Harvey presented this prestigious award to our recipients:

During the #CWS2.0 Mr. Matt Isnor, Division Chief for the WID’s Cyber Workforce Development Division, led a panel with industry experts where he explored opportunities for the to leverage industry partnerships to accelerate DoD 8140 Qualification.
